<HAUS  OF SWISS BOOKS>

curated by 00123
presented by Kuala Lumpur Art Book Fair

HAUS OF SWISS BOOKS
Switzerland — with its diverse natural landscapes, rich cultural traditions, and architecture — has long served a both inspiration and subject for bookmaking and artistic exploration.

Renowned for their distinctive approaches to design, typography, and layout, Swiss artists and designers often push the boundaries of the book as a medium. By experimenting with narrative, production, and editorial frameworks, they construct layered relationships between form, content, and the act of reading. This integrated approach reveals a dialectical relationship between content and form, positioning the book as a space where meaning emerges through their continual interplay.

As part of the 2025 Kuala Lumpur Art Book Fair’s exhibition, HAUS OF SWISS BOOKS highlights the distinctive landscape of Swiss art publishing. The presentation brings together titles from independent Swiss publishing houses — Boabooks, Ciao Press, Edition Fink, Edition Hors-Sujet, Everyedition, Edition Patrick Frey, Jungle Books, Kodoji Press, and St. Moritz — offering a glimpse into their diverse editorial approaches and publishing practices. The exhibition also features selected works from “The Most Beautiful Swiss Books” (2007 - 2024), an annual award program organized by the Swiss Federal Office of Culture, celebrating excellence in book design and production.
